Golf for the longest time had been considered the game of the affluent or rich as many like to call them. That has changed in recent years though as more and more people are taking up the game of golf. Golf has been launched to the forefront by a golfer named Tiger Woods. Woods has made Golf a sport that everyone can do no matter there level of play. Woods who has dominated the golf world in recent years has put golf on his back and carried to a much high status.
Before Woods golf was something that few people ever really cared about. Since Woods has arrived you will see kids of all ages playing the sport along with people who actually hated the game. Golf has changed through the years and it probably will continue to change even after Tiger Woods is gone. Through the history of golf many people can take credit for keeping golf alive. From Ben Hogan To Jack Nickalus and now Tiger Woods each has added their own touch to the game of golf.
Right now popularity is at an all-time high and that will not stop for a long time it seems. Golf equipment has taken a huge step towards making the game alot easier to. Today's golf clubs are made to take a players fault's into it's production and make them play better. years ago that wasn't the case and you actually had to really study and practice the game as golf clubs were alot less forgiving than they are now.
Everything from Golf balls to golf courses are alot better made to. Golf courses seem to be popping up all the time and that's a testament to the popularity of golf. With golf becoming more mainstream this means that getting on courses will be tougher as more people will want to play. That's a good thing though as the more people playing the better it is for the sport. At one time golf was put on the back burner.
That's not the case anymore. Golf actually is probably more popular than hockey now, which a few years ago you couldn't say that. Golf looks poised to be on the up side with a new tournament format and more people playing the game than ever before. It's a sport that has stood the test of time and now it's move forward.
